The Board of Health, in an effort to control rabies in the community, provides an outstanding Rabies Control Program. Several area veterinarians participate in a voluntary rabies inoculation program established in cooperation with the Union Board of Health. These inoculations are offered at no charge to Union residents.
Residents are advised to contact any of the participating veterinarians noted below for scheduling their "free" rabies shot. Be sure to indicate that you are a Union resident and that there should not be a fee for this service. This procedure is required due to the voluntary nature of this program and the veterinarian's option to withdraw from participation at any time. Also, many veterinarians have specific days and hours for this purpose. Additional fees may apply if you schedule your free rabies shot with other needed immunizations or services.
